Healthcare Accreditation

Assignment Content
Practice – Healthcare Accreditation
Healthcare systems and patients benefit from accreditation standards. Many accrediting bodies are represented in various practice settings. This activity is designed to expose you to some of the major aspects of accreditation and see how it affects quality and safety.

Explore The Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) sites to understand what standards these accreditors require participants to meet. Consider:
History and original purpose for creation
Purpose for existence now—how has it evolved?
Where the requirements for each agency are publicly reported
Why public reporting of metrics is important
How each body operates

Although we focused on CARF and The Joint Commission in this activity, there are many other accrediting bodies to consider:
Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC)
Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc. (ACHC)
American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF)
American Osteopathic Association Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (AOA/HFAP)
Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ)
Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP)
Det Norske Veritas Healthcare (DNV Healthcare)

Review the prompts above and summarize your notes in 525 words for future reference.

QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS REPORT: DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS ANALYSIS

You will take part in several data analysis assignments in which you will develop a report using
tables and figures from the IBM SPSS® output file of your results. Using the resources and
readings provided, you will interpret these results and test the hypotheses and writeup these
interpretations. As doctoral students, your assignments are expected to follow the principles of
high-quality scientific standards and promote knowledge and understanding in the field of public
administration. You should apply a rigorous and critical assessment of a body of theory and
empirical research, articulating what is known about the phenomenon and ways to advance
research about the topic under review. Research syntheses should identify significant variables, a
systematic and reproducible search strategy, and a clear framework for studies included in the
larger analysis.

Copy and paste all tables and figures into a Word document and format the results in
APA current edition.
 Interpret your results.
 Final report should be formatted using APA current edition, and in a Word document.
 4-5 double-spaced pages of content in length (not counting the title page or references).
 Manuscripts should not be written in first person (“I”).
 All material should be 12-point, Times New Roman type, double-spaced with margins of
one inch.
 All manuscripts should be clearly and concisely written, with technical material set off.
Please do not use jargon, slang, idioms, colloquialisms, or bureaucratese. Use acronyms
sparingly and spell them out the first time you use them. Please do not construct
acronyms from phrases you repeat frequently in the text.
For this assignment, select the eight demographic variables and then select ten (10) of the 71
questions and report the frequency and descriptive statistics results with interpretations.
1. The first assignment uses the 2018 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (Federal
Employee Survey 2018. sav).
2. Copy the data file onto your computer’s hard drive. It will not run from the course site.
3. Click on the IBM SPSS® icon on your computer desktop.
4. When it opens, select File, Open, and find the file named Federal Employee Survey 2018.
5. Click on it to open.
6. Run descriptive statistics (frequency tables only) on the demographic variables (first
eight variables).
7. For variables Q 1 through Q 71, perform frequency tables and run descriptive statistics:
mean, median, and standard deviation.

rogerian argument : distance learning

Audience: Your peers and professor
Research: Use at least 4 current, authoritative, and credible journal articles from the TCC database to provide support for the reasons within your thesis. Wikipedia and other online encyclopedic sources do not meet this requirement. Google is not a resource, nor are cheat websites such as Course Hero.
Formatting: MLA formatting is required (12 pt. font, Times New Roman or Arial, 1″ margins, double spacing, header with page number and last name, heading at left with all required info. See Module 1 for exact information) with properly formatted Works Cited Page. In-text and Works Cited sources must correspond (match), and sources should be cited where used (not at the end of a paragraph). A clear indication of where a source begins and ends must be visible (signal phrase, source info. citation; quotations are needed when using exact words of sources).
Word Requirement: 1,500 – 2000 words not including the Works Cited Page (meeting the word count will not ensure you have adequately covered your topic dependent on the topic you select).
Use the information and strategies taught in this Module and the Preceding Modules to ensure success.
Meet the due date.
The final draft should be at least 1,500 words.
In evaluating the effectiveness of this persuasive essay, I will be using the class rubric.
Content is worth 40% of the grade. I will consider the following questions:
1. Does the essay contain a clear, arguable claim that is the result of the writer’s own critical thinking?
2. Does a precise, clear thesis statement support a position?
3. Do the reasons and evidence logically support the claim?

Kafka

Kafka creates a frightening, surreal world. People can turn into insects; chief clerks come to a person’s house when they are an hour late. What is the effect? What is this technique, and why this technique rather than a realistic style to convey his ideas?

Please write two to three paragraphs in standard, academic English with correct grammar. Use one quote from the text to support your analysis. Responses that do not meet the length requirement or incorporate evidence from the text will be graded no higher than 50 points out of 100.

Current negotiation in the news

Think of/identify an interesting recent or current negotiation in the news (from the last 2-3 years). It could be in the domain of business, politics (domestic or international), or any other domain you find interesting. It could be a dispute negotiation or a transactional negotiation. Then, locate 1-2 detailed articles from the popular press (e.g., NYT, WAPO, WSJ, etc.) that provide an overview of the negotiation in question. Finally, undertake a brief (2-3 paragraph) written analysis of this particular negotiation, applying specific, relevant concepts to make sense of each party’s approach to the situation, their negotiation dynamics, and/or the outcomes they arrived at.

What is the difference between cocaine and crack-cocaine. Do you think these differences are significant enough to explain the differences in legal penalties that are imposed on users of each. If not, what do you think are the reasons for the legal distinctions between the two.

Answer the following question based on stimulants:

What is the difference between cocaine and crack-cocaine. Do you think these differences are significant enough to explain the differences in legal penalties that are imposed on users of each. If not, what do you think are the reasons for the legal distinctions between the two.

Next, reply to 2 classmates
Alan Dominguez – The differences that cocaine and crack-cocaine have between the both of them is the method of consumption; crack-cocaine is consume more frequently in the form of smoking through a certain type of pipe and the smoke the crack rock in it. Cocaine, on the other hand, is consumed in different ways; theres the the way that everyone is common with which is thhe intranasal way (also known as the snorting method). The other way is in the form of oral use and the last known method is the injection way where they would infuse it with water and inject it in themselves with a needle. I believe that the differences are not significant enough to explain the differences in legal penalties that are imposed on user of each. I believe the reasons the legal regulation have such a distinction between those two is due to the fact of who is the audience of each drug. Crack-cocaine has often been personified as more of a “dirty” drug while cocaine is seen as more of a fancier drug; despite the fact that both drugs contains such a strong and harmful impact on the consumer. The demographics that people are mainly associate with crack-cocaine is more on the side of African American and Hispanic communities and cocaine is seen more with white communities. Due to this ideology, crack-cocaine has been frowned upon more frequently for its demographic groups and therefore would be seen as the more dirty and more street level type of drug and cocaine would be seen as cleaner and more sophisticated due to its audience.

MIguel Garcia – Cocaine and crack-cocaine are essentially the same substance however there are some key differences. First, Cocaine comes in a powder form as opposed to a bigger, solid form which is one of the defining features of crack cocaine. Crack cocaine is in a bigger solid form and is made this way through mixing cocaine with a number of other susbtances in order to achieve the “rock” type shape. The difference in shape is responsible for the second difference which is in the way both substances are consumed. Cocaine, in its powder form, is typically snorted. Other forms of consuption can be through rubbing cocaine on ones gums. Crack cocaine, however, can only be smoked as a form of consumption. Due to crack cocaines route of adminsitration, an individual can feel the effects of the drug in a more rapid manner which may lead one to abuse the substance more. I feel as if the differences between the two drugs are not significant enough to warrant the differences in the severity of punishments for possesing or distributing either form of the same drug. Both forms are relatively the same except for the route of administration and the supposed higher risk of addiction from smoking crack cocaine. I believe the legal distinctions between the two arise from the role the media has played in portraying crack cocaine as a more evil drug that has a higher risk of addiction. I feel as if this is where the legal distinction arise and as a resul the imposed penalties for possessing or distributing crack cocaine are more severe. The argument can also be made that the legal distinctions also serve to incarcerate a specific demographic of people for a longer period of time. For example, one can say that the penalties are designed to incarcerate minorities such as african americans and hispanics as opposed to the white demographic as crack cocaine isn’t nearly as prevelant in their communites as it is in minority communities.

Black Maternal Mortality
Have you ever wondered why many women are losing their lives when giving birth? It is not a common thing to discuss but it is most common in todays’ society, as technology advances and more doctors are taught how to deliver healthy pregnancies. Is it a problem? Yes, maternal mortality in the black community especially is still on the rise and has yet to decline. As time is changing and it is becoming a new era with new technology and advancements in the world, you would think more lives would be saved and more families could live a full and healthy life. Who is to blame for the lives that are lost? Do we blame the women or the health care professionals ? Some may blame the health care workers, many people can be blamed but you have to look at it from both sides of the fence. You can place blame on the women by saying they are not eating correctly or practicing the correct exercises when carrying their child.
