Critical Reflection

Critical Reflection Project
For your final project, write an essay that links the themes covered in the last past three weeks of the course with QAnon, particularly in its main claim about a global “cabal” of elites who traffic in children, ritual abuse them in satanic rituals, and drink their blood and harvest adrenochrome from their organs. In other words, discuss three ways (no more, no less) in which ideas or themes from prior conspiracy theories relate to the claims of QAnon. I’m looking, in other words, for the influence of the former on the latter. You paper needs a clear introduction with a clear thesis statement, a body which contains the three points, and a conclusion that reflects on how connecting QAnon to prior conspiracy theories might help us to evaluate QAnon and conspiracy theories in general. There’s no one right answer I’m looking for; however, there can be wrong answers, due to factual inconsistencies or errors.
The paper should be between 1000 – 1250 words, no more, no less. If you fall outside these word count guidelines, you’ll automatically receive a grade deduction. A good paper will specifically reference course materials, including citations (you may use whatever style you like). The paper is due by the end of the day, March 4.

Session 4 Systematic Theology Discussion

Discussion Prompt: Personal Salvation
The blast from the neon sign almost caused you to lose control of your car. It was late and now it was raining. You had to work overtime to finish the project that was due before the end of the day. The last thing that you needed right now was a sermon. Repent, be baptized, or go to hell! It is your choice! The sign flashed again. How stupid. Why would anyone with a brain use such a blatant message to advertise a church? Oh well, you thought, I have been a Christian all my life. Repentance is not a thing that I need. Only today Molly (in the next cubicle) said that she had been “saved” and was going to be baptized next Sunday. Saved? I wonder what she meant by that?
Erickson discusses “The Beginning of Salvation” in chapter thirty-three of your text. This is without doubt a very controversial subject. What is your reaction to the way in which Erickson approaches the subject? Has this been your experience? Theologically where do you stand on the matter?
In this response, as in all others in this course, you are responsible for assimilating course content and applying both your reading for this class, as well as any other outside sources to support your perspective.

Grad School Response

Watch the linked video, and read this week’s chapter in our eBook
This can be an informal essay, written in the first person. Still be careful of spelling and
grammar.

In 250 words, reflect on the following prompts and answer them in your essay:
-Tell me how you would you do your research into which institution you might like to
attend?
-What are the potential benefits of grad school you are interested in?
-What are the drawbacks that might personally prevent you from going?
– In the video, Kristina Fiedrich describes thinking of your goals as an artist as
incremental steps. Maybe your goal one year will be to be in a group show, the next year
to have a two person show, and then in your third year a solo show, for example. What
are some of your goals as an artist?
-Would these be best facilitated through a graduate degree? Or are there other avenues
which you think would better fit your pursuits?

Write a personal response essay to the “Putting the Rad in Grad School” chapter and accompanying video.

Role-playing debate

In the role (parent, teacher, student) assigned to you and the assigned position (Pro or Con), debate whether you consider discussion forums are good instructional tools. Refer to the readings and your own experience. Label your posts with your role and whether it is a Pro or Con post (for example: Teacher Pro).
