Write an essay that takes a position on one of the ethical dilemmas

Readings: American SeThe South Side: A Portrait of Chicago and Agregation (first four chapters) by Natalie Y. Moore

Assignment: Write an essay that takes a position of the ethical dilemmas we discussed in class, prompted by the book, South Side, the This American Life podcast episode, In your introduction, describe the dilemma, making sure to include the different perspectives or positions. In class, we have discussed ethics as well as ethical dilemmas; there are many in your source materials; be sure to select one, and focus on that particular dilemma. Then, in your thesis statement, argue for your position about the ethical dilemma. In other words, what would you do in the ethical dilemma you just described? You will support your position with reasoning based on your personal experiences, your unique background, and your core beliefs as they relate to your chosen dilemma. You will also address the counter-arguments to demonstrate that you have considered objections or limitations to your position before you come to your conclusion.

Tips for Writing this Essay :
This paper asks that you to reflect on your personal beliefs and identify aspects of your core belief system, as these apply to an ethical dilemma. Some of these questions may help you to develop your essay and to think critically: Do you have a similar personal experience, situation, or know of someone who does? Did any of your research focus on a similar dilemma? As you think about your core beliefs, describe why you believe the way you do and think about where these core beliefs might come from. What is your unique background that influences how you think? Is it your race, gender, religion, ethnic heritage, family traditions, and/or family values? Could your core beliefs been influenced by specific family members, friends, teachers, mentors, coaches, and/or religious leaders? Could your core beliefs come from something that you have read or heard? Use these questions (and more) to provide the analysis for your position.

Go through recent news stories and find an example of how gender is popularly located in the body (e.g. Women are from Venus, Men
are from Mars type articles). Develop a 1-2 page paper that responds to the following:
● Is gender determined by birth?
● Do these popular statements use science to persuade the reader?
○ If not, how do they legitimate their claims that gender differences are located in our bodies, not our culture or our
environment?

● Conclude by referring to the thought -What would happen if, when you were born, you were not given a sex?

Appliance Warehouse Case

Thanks for the great information gathered through your interviews and questionnaires! Hopefully, you are at the point that you can envision how this new system will function.
You should create a Data Flow Diagram (DFD). This diagram will help the programmers understand how information is flowing through the proposed system. I suggest that you use the notes from the JAD session. They have identified the entities and processes and you can use this information to create a context diagram.

Please have this done by our next meeting.

Hopefully, you are not too bogged down with the DFD. The owner and store manager met this morning and came up with some new rules that will need to be implemented in the SIM system:
The owner and store manager have decided to offer customers a service plan were they pay a flat rate once a year. With this plan, customers only pay for the cost of parts when they have their appliance(s) serviced. They can only buy a service plan if they have purchased an appliance from Appliance Warehouse.
With this new service plan, if they have service on their appliance more than 3 times during the year, they will have to pay the full amount of the service fee and cost of parts.
If the customer does not buy a service plan but buys their appliance from us, we will give a 20% discount off the service fee for the life of their appliance.
Everyone else will pay the full cost of the service plan and parts cost.
Create a decision table from these rules. I would like to see your first pass at this by our next scheduled meeting.

Nice work on the decision table! Now you’ll need to simplify the decision table so that you can create a decision tree. The programmers find it very helpful to have all the decisions laid out in a decision tree.

#3: Experimental Study Design – Due via Canvas on April 2, 2022 at 11:59 PM
Suppose that you have been
hired by the university administration to design a randomized experimental
study to assess the following hypothesis among graduate students: Attending weekly yoga classes leads to
better performance on exams. Please
create the study design, making sure to address the items below.
Be sure that your study design addresses the following
elements:
1. Refine
the study hypothesis so that it is as specific as possible and contains all
elements of a “good” hypothesis. Remember that the design, conduct, and
analysis of the study flows from the hypothesis.
2. How
will you find and recruit participants?

Are there any exclusion criteria that you
would apply?
3. How
will you define the exposure of interest?
o How
will you assign exposure? What will the
unexposed condition be?
4. How
and how often will you collect information on exam performance?
5. What
steps will you take to maximize and assess compliance?
6. What
are the ethical concerns in this study?

other information would you like to know in order to design this study?
8. Discuss
how you would conduct the data analysis and design shell tables to describe the

Expenses are the costs that relate to the earnings of revenue. Another way to think of expenses is as the cost of doing business. Just as revenues represent the inflow into the organization, so do expenses represent the outflow- a stream of expenditures flowing out of the organization.

Expenses are the costs that relate to the earnings of revenue. Another way to think of expenses is as the cost of doing business. Just as revenues represent the inflow into the organization, so do expenses represent the outflow- a stream of expenditures flowing out of the organization.
Direct cost can be specifically associated with a particular unit or department or patient. The critical distinction for the manager is that the cost is directly attributable. Remember direct cost can be traced. Indirect cost, on the other hand, cannot be specifically associated with a particular cost object.
