For this assignment, create a PowerPoint presentation based on the following case studies.
Read the case studies and answer the following questions:
Apply Guido’s MORAL model to resolve the dilemma presented in the case study described in Ethical Scenario 4-3 on p. 48 which is titled, “When Care Appears Medically Inappropriate,” (Guido textbook 7th edition).
How might the nurses in this scenario respond to the physician’s request?
How would this scenario begin to cause moral distress among the nursing staff, and what are the positive actions that the nurses might begin to take to prevent moral distress?
Read the following case study and answer the following questions: “You be the Ethicist”, presented at the end of Chapter 3, p. 41, which starts, “Helga Wanglie…” (Guido textbook).
What are the compelling ethical rights that this case addresses?
Whose rights should take precedence?
How might the institutions’ organizational ethics policies have impacted the outcome of this case?
Leaving any legal issues aside, how would you have used ethical principles to decide the outcome of this case, if Helga Wanglie had continued to survive relying on life-sustaining measures?
Now, examine the same Helga Wanglie scenario from the perspective of health care policy.
How would you begin to evaluate the need for the policy and the possible support or lack of support for the policy from your peers, nursing management, and others who might be affected by the policy?
Do the 10 framework questions outlined by Malone in chapter 4 (Guido textbook, p. 50) assist in this process?
Create a proposal for the organization with possible guidelines, procedures, and policies to address the issues you have identified.
Your presentation should be at least 10 slides (not including title, objectives, and references slides) with detailed notes for each slide that addresses each of the points/questions, including audio for each slide. Be sure to handle all the points thoroughly. Use clear headings that allow your professor to know which section you are addressing on the slides in your presentation. Support your content with citations throughout your presentation. Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the presentation. Include a slide for your references at the end.

PART 2: Listening/Monitoring Research & Report
This part of the project provides an opportunity to learn and see how consumers respond to the organization’s products/brands through social media content. Like in Part 1, you will monitor social media content on various social media channels. In Part 2, you will attempt to gauge and report what main messages are being transmitted by customers and other social media users about the organization you selected for Part 1.

Monitor Social Media Channels: Monitor three to five social media channel conversations about the organization you selected for Part 1.
Identify key search terms for your organization. This should include the name of the organization as well as other search terms such as product names, issues, personnel, etc.
Monitor customer conversations about your organization. Note: Your goal is to find 10 pieces of information across multiple social media about your organization. DO NOT use social media channels, profiles, or boards that are sponsored by the organization. Use the following social media channels:
Twitter
Flickr
Blogs (conduct search using key word searches)
Web (search for web sites about your organization)
Facebook (created by fans or critics of your organization)
Instagram (created by fans or critics of your organization)
Others (not sponsored by the organization)

Part 2: Written Report: For Part 2 of your team’s written assignment (Due Week 6, Day 7), you must write an analytical report of the conversations. The report should include the following sections:
Introduction: Include a short introduction of Part 2 of the project and a short statement of purpose that describes the need to monitor the social media conversations of your organization.
Methodology: Describe how you conducted the research. Include the social media websites visited, search words used, how you located them (search terms), the timeframe in which you monitored the conversations, how you determined source credibility, etc.
Results Table & Conclusions:
Create a table for your data. In the table include:
Source (social media) that you analyzed
Source credibility
Date/time
Comments about the posts/summary about the posts
Write a detailed summary of what you learned about the organization from social media websites. In other words, what messages are the customers directing at the organization? What are the customers saying about the organization? Provide postings/parts of conversations and other evidence to support your report.
Briefly summarize and interpret the result (e.g. what are they saying about the organization, what are the implications for the organization).
Important Note: For each of the questions above, select and include posts/content/quotes to illustrate and support your assertions. Part 1 must have a minimum of 6 references to support your points. This should not be difficult given the number of social media channels selected.

Hi Class,
The data is in! We had 35 students participate in our text message study out of a total of 74 students. Out of the 34 messages sent, we received 3 back that fit our operational definition of norm of reciprocity. This is 8.5%, which is less than what Kunz found with his letters (20%). Typically, we would run a statistical test to determine if 8.5% is statistically significantly different than 20% but for the purposes of this example, let’s assume that it is statistically different, but not in the direction we had hoped!
This means we did not find support for the alternative hypothesis that people will be more likely to reciprocate positive messages when they are sent through text compared to when they are sent by mail.

The intro discusses the theory and builds an argument for a specific alternative hypothesis. The method describes the variables, operational definitions, and procedures used in the study. The results talk about the statistics. The discussion interprets the results in words and discusses some interpretations of the findings.
For this assignment, I want you to write a two page (double spaced) discussion section of a paper. A discussion section typically has the parts listed below, and I expect to see these parts in your two page paper. Use these headings in your paper.
Summary of hypothesis and results. State hypothesis and whether it was supported or not
Summary of the theoretical implications. How does this advance the theory of norm of reciprocity?
Theoretical implications help us answer questions such as “how does this extend our understanding of the theory” or “does this suggest that the theory can be expanded or changed based on the research findings?” The theoretical implications often go a step further than simply stating that the research supports/doesn’t support the theory (because that’s why the research was being conducted in the first place) and instead, might also suggest new pieces of the theory revealed by the evidence, confounding variables, or contexts in which the theory does not hold up.
Summary of practical implications. What kind of practical advice would you be able to give someone based off of the study results?
Practical implications help us answer questions such as “what does this research mean in the real-world?” or “how would I apply this to an every day situation?”
Limitations. What are some things in the study that you would do differently if you could do the study again?
Future Directions. Suggest a study or a direction that future researchers could pursue to build on your work

For the matrix each student will review and evaluate a minimum of 5 articles on your topic. These are preliminary and you will be adding to these for the final literature review paper. Polit and Beck discuss matrixes and information that is important to extract from the journal articles.
I also have attached: a sample matrix. For those groups doing a systemtic lit review I have attached a matrix that demonstrates grading of the evidence and a PRISMA diagram that demonstrates the process of identifying articles that are accessed and ruled in and out to be used in a systematic lit review.

I am attaching 3 different examples of completed Matrices by former students. You can see that each is a little bit different; there is no absolute right way to complete this. The goal is to extract and organize the important information for the articles so that you can use that to write up the draft of the literature review. It is a tool to help organize the information.
One suggestion is to think of the last column ( Appraisal) as Limitations of the research.
