Causal Analysis Essay Assignment

Causal Analysis Essay Assignment
This Final Draft should be 5 to 7 pages in length. It should include a fully developed introduction, three
topic sections, and a clear conclusion.
A Causal Analysis Essay focuses on one problem and seeks to interpret and present the various causes that
led to that specific problem or dilemma. Your task is to focus on the theme of mechanization within Ken
Kesey’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and analyze its development based on the following three causes:
Mechanization can be defined as “the action or process of making something mechanical in character.” How
are the characters in the novel mechanized or turned into mindless automatons? How does this prevent
them from every achieving the American Dream?
1. Patients’ internalization of mechanization (How do the patients’ internalized beliefs contribute to their
mechanization?)
2. The ward’s reinforcement of mechanization of the patients (Consider the role of Nurse Ratched, the
orderlies, ward policies and regulations, the use of prescription drugs and EST, fear and intimidation,
and etc.)
3. Institutionalization of mechanization (The Combine is described by the Chief as an oppressive force,
typically wielded by those in power, to control all inhabitants of society.)
Then, compare the three causes that lead to mechanization in the novel to the three causes that contribute to a
very specific social issue or social climate in today’s America that contributes to the achievement of the
American dream or to its destruction. Consider reviewing the samples posted in Canvas.
Many have argued that the American Dream is a fraudulent deception. Others maintain that it is achievable in
today’s American landscape. Your goal in this essay assignment is to discover how today’s American culture
prevents the attainment of the American dream or empowers Americans to achieve it. Remember to state your
subject clearly and focus on the CAUSES that lead to this issue or circumstance. Here are a few sample claims
to consider:
1. Racism in today’s society is similar to the mechanization developed within Kesey’s novel. It cripples
certain group’s ability to achieve the American Dream.
2. Gender equality today empowers all individuals to chase after and obtain their version of the American
Dream. This differs vastly from the restrictive mechanization illustrated in Kesey’s novel.
3. Unequal access to quality education continues to deprive minorities of their share of the elusive
American Dream. This “otherization” of minorities today clearly mirrors the brutal repression the
patients experience under the tyrannical mechanization depicted in Kesey’s novel.
4. Americans’ optimism and sense of unity engendered in recent years has been critical in ensuring that
American citizens bask in the palpable dream that defines America. This reality is a stark contrast to the
gloom experienced by the patients in Kesey’s novel who are shackled and brutalized by the grips of
mechanization.
These are ideas to help you generate your own stance. I strongly recommend that you email me to schedule a
conference and review the samples posted in Canvas.

East Asia Essay

PROMPT: China has dominated East Asia historically and culturally for most of its history. As a regional superpower, the most populous nation on earth, and claiming a place as one of world’s largest economies makes it certain that it will continue to be the hinge in which East Asia turns. For good reason, The People’s Republic of China is a major focus of East Asia and this chapter. It could not be otherwise.

Write an essay explaining how China’s physical and human geography has impacted the realm’s development.
Explain how China’s geography can be utilized to better understand its strengths and weaknesses over the years (even historically over the centuries).
Explain the nation’s massive economic growth. Can you tell us about the rationale behind China’s 34 major political divisions? What about its demographic issues and government population policies?
A recurrent problem is that some regions in China have developed more quickly than others because of their location. For example, the coastline of China with its ports and fertile soil has developed more rapidly than western China with its deserts and mountains. Western China is more isolated and thus lags behind the coastal regions.
Explain the differences in China regionally highlighting factors such as resources, languages, etc. What are your impressions of China’s relationship with its neighbors?

Hello, I’d like a 5 page essay about palliative care in nursing with the 3 sources that are in my annotated bibliography (file attached). Please read through the bibliography as well. This essay is for my Ethics and Culture in Today Healthcare class.

The components of the final paper will include the following:
-Definition of the problem Relevance of the topic
-Ethical/legal/cultural /developmental nursing considerations
-Conclusion

Here you will provide a definition of the problem you want to address. You will state the area you are researching and why you feel this is a problem and should be addressed. This statement should show why it is important to research this area.

-Describe the precise issue that the research will address (what do we need to know?)
-Show the relevance of the problem (why do we need to know it?)
-Set the objectives of the research (what will you do to find out?)

Relevance of the topics:
-Discuss why the topic is relavent to both nursing and psychology.
-How others can gain from this knowlege.

Ethical/legal/cultural /developmental nursing consideration:
-Link below is helpful to get started but make sure all three (ethical, legal, cultural) aspects are addressed.
https://nursekey.com/cultural-legal-and-ethical-considerations/https://nursekey.com/cultural-legal-and-ethical-considerations/ (No need to answer all the questions from the link, just a couple that relate to topic and address the 3 components).

Theories of Personality Essay

Essay Format
Paragraph Form: Number each case question and make sure you respond, in paragraph form, clearly and substantively to each part. See example below. Do not retype the question given this will cause a high similarity score from TurnITIn.
Question 1
Write you answer to this question in paragraph form. This question has multiple parts; a paragraph addressing each part of the question is appropriate. Make sure to include intext citations and content gleamed from the book and case profile to substantiate your answer. You answer should reflect a high level of critical thinking and correct application of psychoanalytic concepts.
According to Sigmund Freud…………………………………………………………………………………………………..
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Referencing from the textbook and personality brief to support your answers is expected. Make sure to reference appropriately in APA style when paraphrasing or quoting from the e-text or the personality brief document. Use quotes ” ” and provide a section/paragraph number when quoting directly from the e-book and a page number when quoting directly from the personality brief (otherwise it is plagarism). Note: your essay should not be a list of quotes but attempt to put ideas into your own words by paraphrasing.
If you quote from e-book you need to provide the correct in-text citation:
Example 1: According to Shulz and Shulz (2017), “psychosomatic symptoms can be alleviated with cognitive behavioral therapy” (Mind over Matter section, para. 6).
If you quote from the Personality Brief by Cengage you also need to provide a correct in-text citation.
Example 2. The personality briefs notes that “that William is obsessive with cleanliness” (Cengage, 2012, p. 2).
Level of Development & Word Count: Note: the expected level of development and points allocated to each case question varies (see below). Include a word count at the end of your answer to each case question and highlight key words that answer the question posted. Please note that there is minimum level of development expected. I encourage you to go beyound the minimum given essays that are further developed tend to reflect greater level integration and analysis. However, being repetative and redundant just to get beyound the minimum word count expected, will not earn a higher grade.
Quality of Writing: You will also be graded on quality of written expression. It is expected that this essay will be proof-read for grammatical errors, sentence structure and clarity of expression. Pay close attention to intext citation with paraphrasing or quoting from the Personality Brief and the textbook.
Write your essay in Word then copy & paste your editted essay into TurnItIn (see tab below) for editorial review and a similarity /plagarism check. You will be able to revise and resubmit your essay (based on TurnItIn feedback) until the due date. Take advantage of the opportunity to submit your very best work.
A Note on Plagiarism & TurnItIn: Your assignment will be evaluated by TurnItIn for plagiarism and similarity with previous essay submissions. Essay submissions with a similarity score of 24 or greater will not be graded.

mechanisms (other than regression) used by John. Identify one other such defense mechanism and
provide evidence from the personality brief that illustrates this.
– Make sure to answer the questions with a substantive response supporting your perspective (a
paragraph of 150 words minimum is expected). Include a word count and highlight/underline key
words that answer the question posed.

were Freud’s patient which therapeutic techniques (discuss two) would he use as part of his
treatment plan? Which level of consciousness would be the focus of therapy and why? When would
Freud know that healing has taken place?
– Make sure to answer all parts of the question with a substantive response supporting your
perspective. A minimum of a 200 word response is expected. Include a word count
and highlight/underline key words that answer the question posed.

Integrating the Work of Others
Main Task
This unit asks for a specific genre, an academic essay of three to four pages, in which you will integrate your ideas with the ideas of others (in this case three other authors).
You need to work toward a goal of a balanced essay that uses your ideas, but also does justice to the ideas of the authors with whom your piece interacts (balancing between representing some aspects of the authors’ work while highlighting your thinking in relation to them). That is, rather than a pure summary of the essays or a pure reaction based only on your opinions and experiences, you are aiming for more of a “conversation” between you and the authors.
That said, however, you will need to choose a focus for your paper that may not (and probably should not) “cover” every point the authors make. Let your own interests, ideas, experiences, and reactions be the guides for what ideas in the published essays you choose to focus on. The center of your paper is, as in your Unit 1 paper (personal essay), you and your ideas, but this time you will also work on integrating your perspective with the different ideas offered in the texts in ways that will appeal to an academic audience.
An important goal of this assignment is to recognize complexity and show awareness of multiple viewpoints. With this larger goal in mind, you will work to achieve the objectives listed below:
to discover new insights in dialogue with a set of thematically related texts
to develop a larger idea that would add to the conversation purposefully
to fairly represent the texts’ ideas through summary, paraphrase, quotations
to tailor writing (content, form, style) to an academic audience
to cite the source texts in the text and in a works cited page
(Three to four pages – MLA style – 20%)
Source Texts
You will choose either:
two of the course readings listed below (two that have high overlaps and will therefore be most useful to you) and another source of your own choice to put in dialogue with the course readings
or
one of the course readings and two sources of your own choice
(second option)
You will bring ideas, examples, and experiences from the texts into your paper, summarizing, paraphrasing, or quoting directly from the texts. Remember that the texts will not make your point. They will provide examples, perspectives, and viewpoints so that you can make your point. It is important, however, that you understand the larger points made in your selected sources so that you will not misrepresent a source text by taking a quotation out of context.
