Nursing Unit Budget

Case Study #1
Mary is the manager of a medical-surgical unit in a not-for-profit acute care hospital. During the budget preparation process for the upcoming fiscal year, the healthcare system leadership mandated 5% cost reductions from the previous fiscal year budget. Labor costs must be evaluated thoroughly for potential cost savings. Mary feels strongly that eliminating nursing positions is inappropriate in this budget reduction initiative.
Mary has a $1 million dollar per year budget that includes personnel (including benefits), equipment, and supplies. The 5% reduction totals $50,000.
How can Mary justify that her current nurse staffing is appropriate to ensure cost-effective, high-quality care for her patients? What strategies can she use?
How can Mary meet the budget reduction mandate without cutting nursing staff? Generate your ideas and select the most viable option under the circumstances.

Case Study #2
In Table 1 is a 20-bed nursing unit expense budget for June 2020. The average census in June 2020 was the same as budgeted (18 patients/day average). The columns show the budget for June, the actual expenses for June and the variance (the difference between the expected and actual budget expenses). In the last two columns, you see the expenses YTD (year to date; Jan – June) for the current year and the final column shows the YTD expenses (Jan – Jun) for the prior year.
Please note that the numbers provided are in the “thousands”. Example: The productive budget for June is actually $200,000 (not $200).
Study the columns and rows in this budget report.
Identify where the unit is over budget or under budget.
As the nurse manager, brainstorm how to explain this budget variance and write your answer as you would present to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Business analysis: a case study of the greek banks in the stock market

Business Analysis: a case study of the Greek banks in the stock market It must be written in ENGLISH. In the first phase we need to define some research questions and give a proposed structure, so that we can get the OK from the professor that we are doing well. And there should also be a small paragraph explaining the research plan (e. g. in addition to the theory, we’ll get data from this site for this or that bank, for this or that time period, etc. ) Then, although time is limited, we want them to be sent to the professor gradually as chapters are completed. There needs to be a table of contents, abstract, introduction and conclusion. WE NEED DRAFTS FIRST AND THEN THE FINAL PAPER AS STATED ABOVE.

Environmental deterioration has a negative impact on people’s mental health.

I need my paper edited

i will drop the rubric and this was the comment left on my paper

“Hanna, typically in the problem statement you develop it a little bit more so far what you have almost looks more like an abstract. You bring up plenty of pretty good points on pages two and three. You don’t incorporate any research to support. It makes sense that different environmental conditions would affect people differently. But again, you have to build your claims off of Research or support the claims with research. What psychological effects on people’s mental health are caused by environmental degradation, particularly climate change, resource shortages, and air pollution? (consider: can be attributed to the effects of climate change?) 2. What coping mechanisms might be used to lessen the mental health effects of environmental degradation psychologically? 3. How may environmental deterioration’s psychological effects on mental health be mitigated? (This is pretty much the same as the 2nd question). 4. What policies and interventions can be put into place? You definitely have a decent sense of how to put the research into paragraphs for a literature review. This is pretty evident on Page Six. However, you do too much summary of the source without saying really what the important conclusions were. Also, you don’t put page numbers in parentheses to show where your summaries and paraphrases end. One kind of subtle thing that I notice in how you write is you preview like what you are going to talk about. This can work OK in some sections, but in the proposal statement it doesn’t sound right because in your methodology you’re not actually going to talk about it; instead what you’re going to do is you’re going to describe a plan to study it. So I didn’t get through your expected outcomes or additional considerations section. What I’ll focus on is the paragraph towards the bottom of I believe page eight. You talk about a method of holding informational meetings where people who live in areas affected by climate deterioration share their experiences. This could be a good method. However the earlier parts of your methodology section aren’t really anything beyond what you’re supposed to do in a literature review. My advice is that you take this method of interviews or surveys of individuals affected by climate deterioration, and have a more specific description of how you would do a methodology with this population. What I mean is how you would conduct surveys, what would your sample size be, how you would get access to them, where they are, and, more importantly, what specific survey or interview questions you would ask them that link climate deterioration to mental well-being.

What would you say to your co-worker. How would you maintain a positive work relationship?

Provide at least two, in-depth detailed paragraphs (at least three to four sentences for each paragraph) for each answer and the classmate responses. Read textbook material, research topic, and provide additional information pertaining to the subject matter. Provide examples if, and when possible, to further support, reinforce and strengthen your answer. The goal is to research and review outside sources on the topic and then to create answers in your own wording and thoughts, developing your written communication skills. Use of written communication, critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills should be applied when developing answers.

Citations are required when using or incorporating any outside source material within your answer. Citations must be properly cited.

Case Study/Questions:

Your supervisor requests you to send out a package to an important client by Certified Mail to ensure the client receives the material in a timely manner. You are having an extremely busy day and ask a co-worker, who is going to the Mail Room if she would mind mailing the package. The co-worker forgets you ask her to send it by Certified Mail and sends it Priority Mail. When talking with the co-worker at the end of the day, you realize a mistake has been made and the package was sent Priority Mail instead of Certified Mail as your supervisor had requested.

1. What would you say to your co-worker. How would you maintain a positive work relationship?

2. What do you say to your supervisor. How would you maintain a positive work relationship?

3. How would you rectify this situation?

“You have been recently appointed as the Head of Safety for a new low-cost start-up airline to compete with the established low-cost successful airlines in your region. The airline stakeholders seeing the profits made elsewhere want to get established very quickly and start making profits.
They are known for their aggressive tactics in business and perceive that one of the contributing factors to these other companies’ profits is that they must be cutting corners somewhere in their operation.

The Chief Executive tasked with setting up the company, “ABC” Airlines, knows that cutting safety-related issues is not the appropriate modus operandi – this report is needed to support and to help to increase the safety budget.

Prepare a report outlining ABC airlines’ proposed Safety Management and Crisis Management Systems, attitude towards risk and core company culture to ‘sell’ the concept of a modern transparent, safety-conscious airline where ‘safety matters’.

Write a 3000, word report detailing the appropriate culture, risk and safety attitude to comply with your CEO’s brief. This should encompass the entire organisation.
Must provide a critical and objective analysis of the potential problems that could be encountered concerning safety in the business. In doing so, make clear the need for safety to be a central focus.
Use examples of air accidents in the past referring to occasions when profit/cost-cutting was put before airline safety and how it negativelly impacted the reputation and long therm profits of the company. (eg. Boeing 737 MAX, Alaska Airlines Flight 261 etc.)
Your report is to also consider aspects of crisis management and how this links to the proposed safety culture within the organisation”
