Overview
In this assignment, an
organization you identify will select a project to undertake.
Think
of One possible project that connect to your Major Computer System Technology
like (Software Development Track Project, Information Technology Track Project,
Database Track Project). Choose
any track that you are comfortable with.
Think
of an organization (Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Samsung, or any big Reputed IT
company in USA) where
you would like to work after graduating college.
When identifying project, be creative and think of I.T. work you
would like to do as a Software Developer, Database Administrator, Game Developer, Database
Developer or Web developer, App Developer. Consider how the project might use your
strengths and interests and also affect your career development. Make sure that
each project fits the formal definition of a project.
When identifying an organization, you can consider existing
organizations or, instead, fictional organizations you imagine; perhaps, one
might even be your own company.
Instructions
In writing, briefly describe the organizations overall business
strategy and objectives. Communicate the ideas behind each project, the
purpose, and the opportunities they present or the problems they resolve.
Explain how each project would align with the organizations overall business
strategy. (You might also explain how you identified the organization and the
specific project)
Describe the method you
would choose to select one of these projects and explain why you chose the
method. As part of the assignment, you are asked to choose at least one method
from the list below. Chapter 2(follow the attached slides) of the textbook describes each method in detail.

Lastly, perform the financial projections described below and
summarize the results in a chart similar to Figure 2-7 (slide 3) and, in writing, explain
your results.
Performing Financial Projections
Estimate the future costs and benefits for the one project that
your organization will select. Since this is often difficult, use your best
judgment to come up with reasonable figures — based on research for similar
projects or based on actual hardware, software, and labor costs. Choose a
discount rate between 6% and 12% and determine the projects NPV, ROI, and
Payback period. See Figure 2-7. Intranet Project
NPV Example for how to show your results. Explain your results by including
key terminology from Chapter 2(on the slides).
Cite all references and pay special attention to spelling and
punctuation; sentence structure and grammar; professional terminology; and the
overall clarity of your writing.

First, you have to come up with the project. Once you have your
project, it’s your responsibility to estimate the costs and the benefits based
on your project’s equipment, resources, or manpower you need for your project.
etc.. Look at figure 2-7 on slide three (page 8), on row four, there is
an example of an estimated cost (numbers were made up 140,000 to 40,000) and
you need to find the discount factor amount based on the discount factor
formula (1/1+r)^t. After that, create the discounted costs row by doing
(Discount factor amount * Costs for each column). Again, you need to estimate
the benefits based on the project you choose. Once you make up the amount of
the benefits, like (200000, 200000, 200000) calculate the discount factor again
for each year. then create a row, discounted benefits by doing (Discount factor
amount * Benefits). After that, you will be fine to do the rest of the rows
like (Discounted benefits – Discounted costs) and Cumulative benefits.

Interestingly, the diseases have very similar risk factors for both diseases (primarily behavioral factors like smoking, obesity, and a sedentary lifestyle). The author also described the epidemiological trends and discussed ethnic/racial differences that have been shown to contribute to increased prevalence of certain conditions.

Hello Everyone,
I found this weeks discussion interesting, as it talked about my favorite topic–sleep. By now, we all know that one-third of our life is spent sleeping. Gaskin (2021) described the various stages of sleep along with what occurs. For example, stage 1 is the transition between wakefulness and entering stages of sleep. Stage 2 is a light form of sleep from which a person is easily awakened (Gaskin, 2021). Such an individual can awake at the sound of their name or essentially something familiar. Though I do not know if this too may apply, an example of this is the transition between sleep and wakefulness. A sibling of a client I work with enjoys going outside to either go for a walk or run around the grass. Now my client and I were having a simple conversation where the term walk came up, to which his younger sibling opened his eyes, got up, and asked to go outside.
For this discussion, I chose to examine the DSM-5 parasomnia of sleep/night terrors. The DSM-5 indicates that the prevalence of Sleep terror disorder is unknown (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). However, sleep terrors occur in about 37% of children at 18 months and about 20% at age two and a half (Hoolu & Hergner, 2016). Sleep terror events last 1 to 10 minutes on average, and typically, only one event occurs per night and rarely occurs during naptime (APA, 2013). According to the DSM-5, sleep terrors are partial, abrupt awakening from a deep sleep during the first third of the night, or the first third of the major sleep episode, accompanied by inconsolable screaming and crying and autonomic arousal.
Hoolu and Hergner (2016) characterized sleep terror (ST) by intense fear, motor agitation, and screaming. The article discussed a 7-year-old boy who, after 1-2 hours of falling asleep he would scream, cry and vomit. While in the morning, I had no recollection as to what happened the following morning. The authors also stated that the young child was diagnosed with having ST and functional vomiting, and to help treat both, and he was given mirtazapine– an antidepressant. It is thought to positively affect communication between nerve cells in the central nervous system and/or restore chemical balance in the brain. On the childs hospital visit a month later, there were no complaints of ST, and vomiting improved completely. However, at the 6-month follow-up, he had only two episodes of ST and no episode of vomiting (Hoolu & Hergner, 2016). Based on this article, this had been the first case of ST that was responsive to mirtazapine.

RTE Industry & Hospitality – New roles for staff. Technology check-ins online instead of with front desk staff. Routine mundane tasks going to robots, like room service and employees more focused on personalized services vs rote tasks.
