Summary of Wm Morris – an art leader from the 1800’s.

The purpose of the article is inform my artist group of his wokr as it may apply to us. We wish to emulate his work. I have created the Big Yellow House in Nelson, BC. It is a combination of artist residency and studio space. I wish to follow his principles: a counter revolutionary action to the digital age.; to restore humanity in work by engaging local artists and crafters using local materials. We are seeking artists who can work in variouse forms: woodworking; block printing; design; weaving; needlepoint. Rather than a history lesson or autobiography, more of a summary and guide for our action. A call to action

In this assignment, students will learn to take a broad view of the plurality of access controls necessary within the
subject environment. These may include physical access, logical access (e.g., computers and networks), and access
specific to defined user groups (e.g., executives, management, vendors, and so forth).
After reviewing this week’s readings, consider the point of sale card payment system, such as the ones used in a
grocery store. Provide a diagram that lists the elements of identification and authentication that must be in place to ensure customer and merchant protection from fraud.

future world scenario considering the global trends we studied throughout the course: demographic, economic, social, technological, environmental, and political.

SCENARIOS FOR 2040 CHARTING THE FUTURE AMID UNCERTAINTY
110 | RENAISSANCE OF DEMOCRACIES
112 | AWORLDADRIFT
114 | COMPETITIVE COEXISTENCE
116 | SEPARATESILOS
118 | TRAGEDYANDMOBILIZATION
The report presented several archetypal future scenarios that represent distinct pathways for global developments out to the next 20 years. However, because the world regularly twists and turns in surprising ways, none of these outcomes are predetermined. The choices people make—individually and collectively, whether by intent or chance—will remain the biggest variables driving the course of events.
Develop an alternative creative scenario, by critically thinking about the future in the lights of the information you gathered throughout the course and your increased awareness of the big picture. Evaluate the presented scenarios in the above mentioned report to pick an existing scenario to build on or challenge its current planning assumptions by coming up with an original scenario of your own. Keep in mind that these scenarios, and the challenges and opportunities they represent, are not necessarily mutually exclusive. The future will probably include elements from each, but at different levels of intensity or in different regions of the world.
Write an essay that clearly explains your future world scenario considering the global trends we studied throughout the course: demographic, economic, social, technological, environmental, and political. As good scenarios are far more art than science, try to provide strong rational based on current evidence from the assigned readings to make your predictions grounded enough to feel plausible, while imaginative enough to challenge current assumptions.
Note: Use the assigned reading materials in the course as your primary source of information and citation. Keep the use of outside sources to a minimum.
Format your paper using the following guidelines:
1,000 words (3 pages) length.
12-point Times New Roman font.
Double line spacing.
1-inch margins.
Use the following paragraph layout for your final paper:
Include a clear introductory paragraph, body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph that flow together.
The first paragraph should clearly state your argument and a summary of the main reasons for your argument.
In the body paragraphs, you should expand on the reasons for your position and provide more detail or evidence as needed.
The final paragraph should be a concluding paragraph in which you restate your argument and the main reasons for your position.
——————————————————————————————————————-
Sample structure: Here is an example of a paper structure that you might find helpful:

A. Thesis and Introduction: Which of the future world scenarios presented in the readings I think will be happening in the next 15-20 years? (If none resembles your vision, present a new model of your own creation and give it an original name. It can have aspect from the available scenarios too).

B. Body: Based on the readings throughout the semester, how do I imagine this world scenario to look like from the following aspects/What are the evidences from the readings to support my vision?

1. Demographic: Based on reading the demographic trends happening now, I think the future world’s demographic will be…. (add your thoughts)
2. Economic: Based on reading the economic trends happening now, I think the future world economically will be….(add your thoughts)
3. Technological: Based on reading the technological trends happening now, I think the future world technologically will be….(add your thoughts)
4. Social Trends: Based on reading the social trends happening now, I think the future world socially will be….(add your thoughts)
5. Environmental Trends: Based on reading the environmental trends happening now, I think the future world’s environment will be….(add your thoughts)
6. Political: Based on reading the political trends happening now, I think the future world politically will be….(add your thoughts)

C. Conclusion: Based on all the above evidence, I think my thesis is correct and the future world scenario I predict is plausible.
D. References: List your sources as it is part of your grade.

Pollution in Your
Backyard
This week you will write a summative paper on
an environmental pollutant of your choice that is a known issue in your
community. Your paper
should include the following:
1.
Identify the known pollutant.
2.
Identify the ecosystem type that this pollutant tends to
affect most around your community.
3.
Where and/or how is the pollutant generated?
4.
What impact does it have on the organisms in that
environment?

HR Assignment

The goal of recruitment is to generate a pool of qualified candidates. More specifically, recruitment refers to the range of processes an organization uses to attract qualified individuals. When considering recruitment strategies, there are some initial questions that should be explored:
Should we recruit internally or externally?
Should we consider alternative approaches to filling jobs (i.e. contract staff)?
Should we look for fully qualified candidates, or look for the best fit who we would have to devote time, money, and energy to developing?
Beyond these three questions, what else would you consider before initiating recruitment?
List 3–5 other factors you would like to consider.
Submit your response in no more than 500 words in the assignment link below.

Reflection: Society

My Example= Music: Birthday music

In this activity, you will work on the second part of the reflection section of your project. You should consider the feedback from your instructor on the previous activities when completing this assignment. Include diverse perspectives from varied sources to support your points. First, you will explain how the analysis of your example and area of popular culture may have been different if you had used one of the other general education lenses. Then you will describe how the knowledge and skills gained during the analysis of your example could be used in your life. Finally, you will explain how critically analyzing popular culture affects your interactions with various people.
You are not required to address each item below the rubric criteria, but you may use them to better understand the criteria and guide your thinking and writing.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
Integrate reliable evidence from varied sources throughout your paper to support your analysis.
It is important to draw from a more diverse pool of perspectives from varied sources to support the analysis, which is different from the Citations and Attributions rubric criterion.
Reliable evidence from varied sources should be interwoven throughout the paper itself. Citing and attributing sources will be represented as APA in-text citations and a reference list at the end of your work.
You will be evaluated on both criteria.
Explain at least one way in which your analysis might have been different if you had used one of the other general education lenses to analyze the example and area you chose.
This should be a brief (3–5 sentences) reflection about how using the language and perspective from a different lens would shift your view of your topic.
Describe how your analysis of the example you chose could be used in other aspects of your life.
Consider how critical analysis skills could impact your personal life, community involvement, or hobbies.
Explain how critically analyzing popular culture can help in your interactions with people with different viewpoints, vultures, or perspectives.
Think about ways in which a greater awareness of popular culture strengthens individual conversations. Consider including an example from your life.

Intro to Ethics Reflections

Write a short reflection statement (350-500 words) after reading Chapter 1. Use complete sentences
and correct academic writing to complete this assignment.
Respond in writing to these items:
Carefully examine the eight essential
moral theories discussed in Chapter 1 and then pick the theory you think
best aligns with your own moral compass.
Describe your chosen moral theory in
some detail. Explain why you
think your theory is a better source of moral guidance than some of
the competing theories discussed in the chapter.
Think of an experience in your life in
which you applied your chosen theory. Was the outcome the one you
expected?
Lastly, have your thoughts changed since
reading the first chapter? If so, how?

Lesson 3 Reflection

prohibit physicians from assisting in a patient’s suicide? How does Gill
respond?
What are the social attitudes toward
suicide that Callahan mentions? Do you think these attitudes are
appropriate? Even if they are, do you think that would show that something
is wrong with suicide? Explain your answers.
Callahan worries that legalized PAS
gives physicians too much power to kill patients, including influencing
patient decisions in wrongful ways. What reasons can you think of that a

non-sentient nature may signal absence of certain human traits. Do
you agree or disagree? Explain why.
What are the four goals Baxter proposes
in order to develop a solution to the problems of human organization?
Which of these goals do you find most compelling,
and which do you find least compelling.
Why?

Why is deterrence not a decisive factor
in the debate about the morality of the death penalty according to van den
Haag? Explain your answers. Do you agree with his argument? Why or

Write a short reflection statement (350-500 words) after reading Chapter 5. Use complete sentences
and correct academic writing to complete this assignment.
Respond in writing to these items:

insurance company use? Discuss.
What do you think of Marneffe’s argument
for the decriminalization of drugs? Do you agree with his logic
related to the problems of legalization? Discuss.
Explain how Shapiro’s Alternate View of
Addiction is a consequentialist approach to the problem. Discuss
what he means by humans being “interpretative animals” in regard
to each of the 3 components of the Alternative View.
