HIS Health Information System

What is the purpose of HIS and technology governance? What are the key groups responsible for HIS and technology governance in healthcare organizations? Finally, why is it important to HIS and technology planning for a healthcare organization to have developed its strategic business plan?

In what ways are the lessons learned in the early years of HIS adoption relevant to today’s problems to solve? In what ways do they differ from today’s systems and issues?

SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE AND METHOD RESEACH

SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE AND METHOD RESEACH

In this activity, you will analyze your personal experience using sociological concepts. Once you have read the course material for this lesson, review the specific questions below. Answer the questions in a 2 page paper, that is typed, double-spaced, in Times New Roman 12 pt. font. Write your response using your own words and without directly quoting the book or other resources. Responses that are not written in your own words will receive a “0.”
You should engage course concepts and theories in your paper. Be sure to define terms and explain terms within your answer. Also, be sure you answer all parts of each question.

Obviously you have engaged with the U.S. public education system, because you are currently attending a public university. Our personal experiences with the education system shape our understanding of how it works, its value, etc. As sociologists, we use sociological perspectives to analyze the social world, not personal experience. Thus, this question asks you to use sociological theories to analyze a personal aspect of your life, education. First, explain the differences between functionalism and conflict theory. Then, discuss the differences in how a functionalist and conflict theorist would explain the PUBLIC education system (focus on K-12) in the United States. Avoid discussing private schools in your answer.

consider how observation research might help gather information for a specific research question with public policy implications: how many people do not wash their hands after using a public restroom?

consider how observation research might help gather information for a specific research question with public policy implications: how many people do not wash their hands after using a public restroom? If you think observation is a useful method for this question, explain how you would use observation to gather relevant data. If you do NOT think observation is useful, suggest a different method that’s better. When you respond to others’ posts, try to select someone who has taken the opposite view from you, and (respectfully) describe why you disagree with their approach.

Critically engage with the day’s material. What are its insights/implications/applications/ shortcomings/limitations, etc.?

submit a 300-500-word reading analysis (Chapter one)
The first chapter is provided I inserted the chapter

In order to write an effective analysis, you must:
Begin with a thesis. It can be basic (e.g., This chapter provides important insights on the drawbacks
of universal suffrage). The point is to give yourself (and your reader) a clear sense of where the
analysis is headed.
Critically engage with the day’s material. What are its insights/implications/applications/
shortcomings/limitations, etc.?
Make connections between the day’s material and global democratic decay
Make connections between the day’s material and other concepts/theories/ideas/events you’ve
studied in the major
Reflect on how specific aspects of the reading might be relevant for your research topic

Tip: You don’t need to do all of this in every paper, but not doing any of this probably means you won’t bethrilled with your grade.
Here are some things to avoid:
Too much summary. Summary and analysis are not the same thing. Focus on the latter.
Long direct quotations. Don’t let quotations be a stand in for you own voice. If necessary, refer to
the page number (e.g., “The authors’ reference to Aristotle’s argument for democracy on p. x…”)
Typos, grammatical errors, awkward language. All of these make it harder to understand your argument and therefore reduce the effectiveness of the essay.
