Activity 21: Race in the U.S. Then and Now
Directions: Using what you have read in the Unit, your own experiences, and information you found in your United States History and Geography textbook, use the Text Editor to write an essay in which you answer ONE of the questions below. These guidelines are for a Humanities 1301 course, which focuses on making connections between various areas, including works of art, philosophies/theories, historical events/documents, cultures, belief systems, and famous/infamous people in history. The assignments are informal and require students to make strong connections between ideas and content, using specific examples to support their ideas. The primary source for these assignments is the class text, and students are required to select six or seven works of art/specific examples from two or three chapters, and analyze/discuss them critically. Additionally, the assignments require students to watch and analyze a series of videos by Stephen Hicks, which explain the three time-eras into which all of world history can be divided: 1. the “premodern” age; 2. the “modern” age; and 3. the “post-modern” age. Finally, students must select and include one video from either TED Talks or RSA that applies to their already-selected collection of examples from the class text. The assignments are evaluated based on the selection of examples and the connectivity demonstrated between them.

The assignment is “main case” documentt. This assignment has two (2) parts. Part One is worth 35 points. Part Two is worth 35 points. Please read the questions carefully and answer all parts of the questions.

What is its broad goal? What kinds of private sector entities does it target and what kinds of policies does it use to target them? (You might think about particular industrial sectors, particular kinds of technologies, vertical/horizontal interventions, instruments such as subsidies, research or development assistance, protection from competition, etc.)

Most importantly, thinking back on what you know about innovation, why might those instruments be necessary for innovation to occur in the targeted area? That is, what need does the agency (try to) meet?

It is a research paper, so I expect you to have peer reviewed references. As I already told you in an email with your topic, all of the topics are talked about in Chapter 23. How many times are you going to say consult a healthcare provider?

There is a lot of evidence that assuming you have a healthy diet, they have no benefit other than to the individuals making money off of selling them.

If your deficient in an essentatial amino acid it is a nutrition deficiency issue not a supplementation issue, consume a healthy diet. The question is if taking more has benefits.
