Topic of Research: Role of Women Introduction Paragraph: Hook (example, statistic, or historical context that introduces paper’s topic) Men dominate history because they write it; Women stay hidden because they never get the chance to hold the pen. Overview of any issues or complications that has to do with your topic Society has created a norm where women are just here to clean, cook, and take care of their family.
Though gender discrimination has regressed, the ideology is still persistent. Explanation of the topic of research (this is your KEY TERM that you need to provide CONTEXT for) The discrimination against women is not just a recent thing, for centuries men have been seen as more capable, and this idea was even mentioned in Greek mythology. Women are portrayed pessimistic and troublesome symbols, while men are known for being strong and controlling. The ancient Greeks perceived courage, intelligence, independence, and loyalty as manly characteristics. When exhibited such traits, they were labeled masculine. In traditional Athenian thought, women who took bold and decisive action could be viewed as disruptive to society and to nature as well.
There are certain groups of females that have broken these norms. One in particular are the Amazonians. In Greek myth, a tribe of female, horse-riding warriors, who fought in hand-to-hand combat to the first cut. Their legends and history challenged the male-dominated establishment and planted seeds of rebellion in the minds of their women. Thesis Statement (1 sentence that expresses your position for this research project) Examples Though gender discrimination has been a persistent issue, it is not new. This dates back to the start of greek mythology, where a lot of goddesses and females are portrayed as the usual house carers, there are certain groups of women that protest against this idea, through their combat and war skills, as well as their voice and views of the world.
Body Paragraph 1: 2 Sources Minimum Findings on your topic: Information and Context Claim (Topic Sentence) Greek women had virtually no political rights of any kind and were controlled by men at nearly every stage of their lives.
From their education, to their marriages, and income, they were always lying under the label of the men in their life Support (Direct Quote from a Text) In “Daily Life in Ancient Greece,” the author impassioned, “Women did not enjoy high status in Greek society. They could not participate in, or even attend, meetings of the Assembly, for example. They did not engage in cultural activities or go to the gymnasium. Most did not go to school” (Williams). Analysis (How does the quote support your claim and relate back to your thesis statement?)
This demonstrates the harsh reality of women in Greek society. Although Oeconomicus described the life of a wealthy woman, it still reflects the ideals of Greek society. A Greek housewife ran all aspects of her home. She supervised slaves and servants and cared for them when they were sick. She provided people with properly stored and prepared food and drinks. She was usually the family member who kept up with religious observances, and she managed the household accounts. She was also responsible for the family’s clothing, including making and mending it.
Support (Direct Quote from a Text) In, “Ancient Greek civilization,” the author exclaims, this social and political end it was necessary that women should not inherit in their own right; an heiress was therefore obliged to marry her nearest male relative unless he found a dowry for her” (Simon). Analysis (How does the quote support your claim and relate back to your thesis statement?) This lifestyle show how the standards of women have been persistent throughout time.
Body Paragraph 2: 2 Sources Minimum Importance in Greek Culture Claim (Topic Sentence) Despite these standards, there were certain groups and myths that defied the odds. One being a tribe of woman warriors known as the Amazons. Support (Direct Quote from a Text) In the article, “Amazons,” the author informs us about the lifestyle of these women, stating “The Amazons were in part a reverse projection of the housebound lives of actual Greek women, most of whom were excluded from the men’s world, bereft of both political power and sexual freedom. Imaginary “male women” apparently were both fascinating and frightening to Greek men” (David).
Analysis (How does the quote support your claim and relate back to your thesis statement?) Whatever its origin, the Amazon story exerted a strong influence on the Greek imagination. Amazon society was thought of as savage and exclusively female. Support (Direct Quote from a Text) In, “Amazon Women,” by Michael However, the author exclaims, “Of course, Orellana was unable to capture an Amazon, and the women remained elusive inscribed in oral accounts and written chronicles well into the 18th century, forming part of the “invented ” America that still inspires historians, novelists, and artists” (However). Analysis (How does the quote support your claim and relate back to your thesis statement?) This quote ties up the idea of the magic that these women performed. Through the act of war, voicing their ideas, or oral writing, the Amazonians pushed through the gender norms of a standard house wife.
Body Paragraph 3: 1 Source Minimum Conclusion and Connections Claim (Topic Sentence) Women bring life to Earth, yet never get to fully enjoy that life. Throughout time, gender norms have improved, however the idea of them remains through not just everyday life but Greek myths and orals as well. One example of this are the warrior women, the Amazons.
Support (Direct Quote from a Text) This quote from Branden Skeen, “Women’s lives were entirely under the control of their fathers, husbands, or even sons, and as the literary tradition shows, the men were fully aware that many women felt this condition to be unjust. Nevertheless, women could often assert themselves through their personal influence over powerful male relatives” (Skeen). Analysis (How does the quote support your claim and relate back to your thesis statement?) This quote shows how they had gotten more freedom to become their own person, and very myths demonstrate an actual group that did. Conclusion/ Extension How will you wrap things up in 1-2 sentences? Answer the question, “so what?” A woman is the full circle. Within her, is the power to create, nurture, and transform.

The Quadruple Aim provides broad categories of goals to pursue to maintain and improve healthcare. Within each goal are many issues that, if addressed successfully, may have a positive impact on outcomes.
For example, healthcare leaders are being tasked to shift from an emphasis on disease management often provided in an acute care setting to health promotion and disease prevention delivered in primary care settings.
Efforts in this area can have significant positive impacts by reducing the need for primary healthcare and by reducing the stress on the healthcare system.
Changes in the industry only serve to stress what has always been true; namely, that the healthcare field has always faced significant challenges, and that goals to improve healthcare will always involve multiple stakeholders.
This should not seem surprising given the circumstances. Indeed, when a growing population needs care, there are factors involved such as the demands of providing that care and the rising costs associated with healthcare.
Generally, it is not surprising that the field of healthcare is an industry facing multifaceted issues that evolve over time. In this module’s Discussion, you reviewed some healthcare issues/stressors and selected one for further review.
For this Assignment, you will consider in more detail the healthcare issue/stressor you selected. You will also review research that addresses the issue/stressor and write a white paper to your organization’s leadership that addresses the issue/stressor you selected.
To Prepare: Review the national healthcare issues/stressors presented in the Resources and reflect on the national healthcare issue/stressor you selected for study. Reflect on the feedback you received from your colleagues on your Discussion post for the national healthcare issue/stressor you selected. Identify and review two additional scholarly resources (not included in the Resources for this module) that focus on change strategies implemented by healthcare organizations to address your selected national healthcare issue/stressor.
The Assignment (2-3 Pages): Analysis of a Pertinent Healthcare Issue Develop a 2 to 3 page paper, written to your organization’s leadership team, addressing your selected national healthcare issue/stressor and how it is impacting your work setting.
Be sure to address the following: Describe the national healthcare issue/stressor you selected and its impact on your organization. Use organizational data to quantify the impact (if necessary, seek assistance from leadership or appropriate stakeholders in your organization). Provide a brief summary of the two articles you reviewed from outside resources on the national healthcare issue/stressor.
Explain how the healthcare issue/stressor is being addressed in other organizations. Summarize the strategies used to address the organizational impact of national healthcare issues/stressors presented in the scholarly resources you selected.
Explain how they may impact your organization both positively and negatively. Be specific and provide examples.
Looking Ahead The paper you develop in Module 1 will be revisited and revised in Module 2. Review the Assignment instructions for Module 2 to prepare for your revised paper.
