Write a paper about the dismissal of women pain in the healthcare system and how its important to listen because period pain often leads to other diseases.

Assignment Question

Our work this term is focused on understanding how gender influences, and in many cases determines, healthcare provision and availability. In this course you will devote considerable time to addressing how social and natural scientists and health professionals read, and critically evaluate the literature on this topic, and how this information may inform public policy and/or healthcare legislation. One way that you will pursue this aim is by picking a major topic within gender and healthcare, and writing a 5-7 page literature review that critically analyzes your topic.

Assignment Instructions Your literature review should be organized and presented in a professional manner.

Suggested sections to include are as follows: 1. An introduction to your topic. Here you can provide information such as: a. The history of the topic. b. Theoretical background regarding different “lenses” through which your topic may be interrogated and/or explained. c. Why this topic is important. d. Which groups in society are most impacted by this topic? e. What impact does this topic have on the healthcare system? This introductory information should be chosen with support of your paper’s thesis topic in mind. As such, it is up to you to critically “pick and choose” which literature you include in your paper for this section. 2. Provide a synthesis of the scientific evidence that is relevant to your topic/thesis. This information will comprise the majority of your paper. For this section, you may use scholarly literature from the natural sciences, social sciences, or both. Be sure here to use primary research from quality sources – particularly for natural science. Review articles are acceptable and will be helpful if available. a. Note- be sure you are not simply summarizing your chosen sources article by article.

The purpose of a literature review is to provide a coherent, succinct synthesis of the research you reviewed to gain insight into your chosen topic. Therefore, you should be looking for themes/connections across studies and critically analyzing the literature. 3. Provide a conclusion that ties together the information you have presented in section 2. What conclusion(s) can be drawn from the available literature? How might this information be used by natural and/or social scientists going forward to influence public policy and/or healthcare legislation? What further research should be undertaken to clarify what is known on this topic?

The paper to be about the dismissal of women pain in the healthcare system and how its important to listen because period pain often leads to other diseases. Focus on the dismissal of period pain specifically. Also all the references have to be within the past 10 years.

Write one shorter research paper with one of the literary works from the semester as your central focus.

Assignment Question

You will be required to write one shorter research paper with one of the literary works from the semester as your central focus. The paper must be 1,500-2,000 words (six to eight pages) in length and include at least two outside sources (the text itself does not count as one of these sources). Your paper should analyze the literary work using a clear and specific critical lens. For example, you could analyze the text using a cultural or historical lens, focusing on how the literary work reflects the cultural/historical society that it represents. Another option would be to analyze the text through a gender focused or feminist reading, discussing how gender roles are represented in the text. Yet another option would be a literary analysis, looking at how a specific theme or style in the work of literature is developed through the storytelling choices of the author(s). Your outside sources should clearly and specifically support your topic and your thesis. Write a 6-page thesis driven essay on any topic you found of particular interest the second half of the semester that you would like to present more formally as your culminating course paper.

Assignment Question

Task: Write a 6-page thesis driven essay on any topic you found of particular interest the second half of the semester that you would like to present more formally as your culminating course paper.

This paper requires you to identify a philosophical issue of importance to you and present a clear thesis on the topic. In addition to using your course readings, you must also minimally use one (1) outside source. This need not be from an academic journal, just an example of your topic in current events or a current application. Your goal is to explain your philosophical topic to an audience (me) in a more academic tone as a thesis driven essay. You will use your readings to support your argument or to present a counterargument, depending on your topic. You are not starting from scratch! These topics have all been considered in our weekly discussion forums. While your discussion forums focused more on summary, your goal in this paper is to refine your thoughts on your previous work and to present the arguments with greater academic complexity. As such, focus on close analysis of the texts while providing direct evidence (through relevant quotes) to support your thesis.

As such, here are some of the possibilities for how to construct your final paper topic/thesis. 1.) Is ethics dependent or independent of belief/existence of God? 2.) What does ethics have to do with notions of free will, personal identity and/or behaviorism? 3.) Can one have moral knowledge like one has scientific/mathematical knowledge? 4.) What does ethics have to do with the problem of evil and human suffering in relation to defining God as divinely omniscient and benevolent? 5.) Do notions of immortality, life after bodily death, and eternal rewards and punishment have an effect on how we define ourselves?

Other suggested general topics: 1.) Comparative study/notions/existence of God in relation to science and secular atheism 2.) The nature of the self and mind (philosophical, scientific, and psychological) 4.) Machines/persons/Artificial Intelligence, in terms of human knowledge 5.) Particular ethical theories that fit with your broader definition/understanding of the self, personal identity, and human knowledge You are limited by the above suggestions: they are simply food for thought in terms of what I am looking for with the paper. Not to worry, I will help you along the way through the steps of submitting a proposal, individual Zoom meetings, helping you verify the applicability of your outside sources to your topic and reading drafts. You must submit a proposal and at least one draft as part of your final grade.

General Guidelines: The essay should be roughly 6 pages. This is a page minimum; you may write as much as you like. Size 12 font 1” margins on all sides Follow MLA formatting for in-text citations Full works cited page in MLA format You must use at least 3 primary sources from your online textbook and at least 1 other outside source
